The 2011-2018 Energy and Biomass Project is a two-phase project with the mission to contribute to the reliable, competitive and sustainable production of energy from biomass, which is the most viable and available source of renewable energy in the Republic of Moldova. The Energy and Biomass Project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations.

233 schools, kindergartens and community centers have now modern biomass based heating systems

197 million lei of European funds have been invested in biomass based heating systems

195,000 persons benefit from securely supplied and locally produced energy
