The Energy and Biomass Project Moldova subsidizes up to 1 300 Euro for procurement and installation of biomass-fired boilers.
The subsidy amount is:
- for biomass boilers with 85% efficiency or higher
- at least 36 hours of battery life
- automated control panel
- biofuel: pellets or mixed (briquettes and pellets)
- for biomass boilers with 75% efficiency or higher
- at least 6 hours of battery life
- automated control panel
- biofuel: briquettes
How to apply?
Just follow these three easy steps:
- Choose a boiler produced or assembled in Moldova
- Submit your application to the Energy Efficiency Agency
- Install the boiler and get the subsidy
Who can buy subsidized biomass-fired boilers?
- any individual who is a citizen of and lives in Moldova
- any Moldovan small or micro enterprise
- owners/co-owners of real estate/companies where biomass boilers will be installed,
and the premises are not connected to the central heating system
What does the application package for the subsidy program include?
A statement of responsibility on the accuracy of data provided for participation in the subsidy program
Documents that acknowledge the applicant’s ownership of the real estate where the solid biofuel equipment will be installed (from the land register or certificate from the local government that acknowledges the applicant’s ownership of the house)
A written agreement from the co-owners of the real estate where the heating system will be installed to participate in the subsidy program (if appropriate)
ID of the applicant and, if appropriate, of the co-owners (copy)
Quotation and boiler technical specifications (in original) issued by a certified supplier

Registration certificate and the extract from the State Register
Minutes of the general assembly of the company’s founders/shareholders acknowledging their agreement to apply for the subsidy program/span>
The documents that acknowledge the applicant’s ownership/co-ownership of the real estate where the equipment will be installed
The real estate lease agreement concluded for a longer term and the written agreement from its owner on the participation in the subsidy program
Tax certificate on lack of debts to the national public budget
A statement of responsibility on the accuracy of the data provided for participation in the subsidy program
A certified copy of the financial statement for the previous reporting period (last year)
Quotation and equipment technical specifications (in original) issued by a certified supplier
The application packages shall be submitted personally by applicants or by their legal representatives at the Energy Efficiency Agency. The Energy Efficiency Agency may request verbally or in writing additional documents or information to be provided no later than three business days.

During phase I (2011-2014), the subsidy program of the Energy and Biomass Project Moldova helped 620 families and small enterprises to install biomass-fired boilers and enjoy increased thermal comfort at lower cost.
