Note: The subsidy programme was already implemented. A total number of 1.134 families and small/micro enterprises have installed in their premises biomass boilers with partially reimbursement from the European funds. The total installed power is 25 MW. The total amount of subsidies, delivered in 2012-2016, is 24,2 million EUR, European funds.

How could you apply? Just follow these three easy steps:
- Choose a boiler produced or assembled in Moldova
- Submit your application to the Energy Efficiency Agency
- Install the boiler and get the subsidy
Who could buy subsidized biomass-fired boilers?
- any individual who is a citizen of and lives in Moldova
- any Moldovan small or micro enterprise
- owners/co-owners of real estate/companies where biomass boilers will be installed, and the premises are not connected to the central heating system
What does the application package for the subsidy program included?
Documents that acknowledge the applicant’s ownership of the real estate where the solid biofuel equipment will be installed (from the land register or certificate from the local government that acknowledges the applicant’s ownership of the house)
A written agreement from the co-owners of the real estate where the heating system will be installed to participate in the subsidy program (if appropriate)
ID of the applicant and, if appropriate, of the co-owners (copy)
Quotation and boiler technical specifications (in original) issued by a certified supplier

Registration certificate and the extract from the State Register
Minutes of the general assembly of the company’s founders/shareholders acknowledging their agreement to apply for the subsidy program/span>
The documents that acknowledge the applicant’s ownership/co-ownership of the real estate where the equipment will be installed
The real estate lease agreement concluded for a longer term and the written agreement from its owner on the participation in the subsidy program
Tax certificate on lack of debts to the national public budget
A certified copy of the financial statement for the previous reporting period (last year)
Quotation and equipment technical specifications (in original) issued by a certified supplier
The application packages shall be submitted personally by applicants or by their legal representatives at the Energy Efficiency Agency. The Energy Efficiency Agency may request verbally or in writing additional documents or information to be provided no later than three business days.

The program covers a wide range of boilers made in Moldova or by European renowned producers, such as Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Latvia, Greece and Italy, and assembled in Moldova. The subsidy program for procurement of biomass boilers for households and small and micro enterprises is a component of the Energy and Biomass Project Moldova funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program. The subsidy program is implemented in partnership with the Energy Efficiency Agency.
