The Public Garden “Stefan cel Mare” will become a realm of eco technologies on the 10th of June, as it will host the SUN Dă-I Fest Festival. The event culminates the European Sustainable Energy Week in the Republic of Moldova, which takes place during 4-10 June.

This year, the festival will exhibit tens of smart inventions based on wind, water, sun and biomass, created by grownups and children. Many technologies that can reduce the utility bills and ensure a clean environment – biomass boilers, photovoltaic panels, solar collectors, wind turbines, and geothermal pumps – will be demonstrated. Visitors will test-drive electric cars, scooters and bicycles, and receive first-hand information about the advantages of clean technologies. The day will culminate with a concert powered by solar energy.

Children will have fun and learn new things by participating in vairous workshops. The little ones will enjoy a playground and build toys and masks from renewable materials, will paint, dance and climb heights. The festival will host a lab of hilarious scientific experiments that can be attended by both grownups and children.

The festival will host a sales exhibition of decorative objects, jewelry, and paintings crafted from natural materials. The craftspeople will teach the interested visitors how to make clay objects and burn them in special ovens at high temperatures. The organizers have surprises for gourmands – eco delicatessens and traditional specialties prepared by professional chefs and amateurs. The festival’s yard sale will gather over 100 salespersons that will sell handmade products from bio or recyclable materials, including gadgets rechargeable from solar, wind and water energy.

SUN Dă-I Fest will culminate with a live music concert powered partly by solar energy. Such bands as Alex Calancea Band & RUPT, The Glimpse, Flash Blood, Dandies, Delta pe Obraz, and Tamala will perform.

Sun Dă-I Fest Festival has been organized since 2013 and is hosted by the Energy and Biomass Project – funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Pogramme – and the Agency for Energy Efficiency.
